Modern broiler production demands maximum technical performance under increasingly complex conditions. High genetic growth potential, variability in raw materials, heat stress and management pressure place a growing burden on the bird. In high performing broiler flocks, part of the available energy is often diverted to subclinical processes such as oxidative stress and non specific, chronic inflammatory responses. These processes increase maintenance requirements and reduce the energy available for growth and muscle deposition. As a result, growth performance is limited and feed conversion deteriorates—often without clear clinical signs.
Presan® Evolve was developed to reduce these hidden efficiency losses and to direct a greater share of ingested nutrients towards productive processes. In practice, this translates directly into more growth from the same amount of feed.
Combining gut support and muscle metabolism
The mode of action of Presan® Evolve is based on a patented combination of targeted release butyrates and a PhytoComplex of plant derived metabolites.
The butyrates support gut integrity and promote efficient nutrient absorption, providing a stable foundation for nutrient availability.
The PhytoComplex components focus on metabolic processes within the bird, with particular attention to muscle metabolism. By influencing specific physiological signalling pathways, energy utilisation in muscle tissue can be optimised. In this context, improved glucose utilisation is considered a possible contributing mechanism. As glucose is a key energy source for muscle development, more efficient utilisation may support improved growth and feed efficiency, without increasing nutrient intake.
Proven impact on growth and feed conversion
The practical relevance of Presan® Evolve is supported by an extensive international research programme. Across eight field and R&D trials involving more than 560,000 broilers, consistent improvements in technical performance were demonstrated.
On average, a 4.7 point improvement in feed conversion (corrected for body weight and mortality) was achieved, alongside an increase in final body weight of up to approximately 90 grams per bird. Importantly, these results were obtained under commercial conditions, reinforcing the applicability of Presan® Evolve in practice.
