Fytera® Care: supporting immune competence around vaccination and immune challenges
- Poultry
A stable immune response helps poultry remain healthy and productive, even under challenging conditions.
.
In modern poultry production, the immune system of birds is continuously under pressure. Intensive production systems, structured vaccination programmes, and fluctuating pathogen loads require a stable immune response throughout the entire production cycle.
In broilers, breeders and rearing flocks in particular, a uniform vaccination response is key to consistent flock performance and predictability in the field.
This makes targeted nutritional support during periods of increased immune activity increasingly relevant.
Application during periods of immune pressure
Fytera® Care is developed for use during periods when the immune system is under additional pressure, such as around vaccination or under increased microbial challenge.
In practice, this includes:
- Vaccination programmes (e.g. IBD, Newcastle Disease, Salmonella)
- Rearing and breeder flocks
- Periods of increased immune activity
- Situations where flock uniformity is critical
The aim is to support a balanced immune response, without excessive activation.
Mode of action
Fytera® Care contains a blend of plant-based bioactive compounds that act on both innate and adaptive immunity:
- Curcumin supports immune cell function and cytokine signalling, helping to regulate the immune response
- Capsicum extracts act on TRPV1 receptors involved in inflammatory processes
- Piperine enhances intestinal absorption and bioavailability of curcumin
This combination supports birds during periods of increased immune activity, while helping to maintain control over inflammatory responses.
Effect on vaccination response
Trials in broilers showed that supplementation with Fytera® Care resulted in higher antibody titres after vaccination against IBD and Newcastle Disease. These effects remained visible for several weeks post-vaccination, indicating a more persistent immune response.
In addition, Salmonella vaccination models demonstrated a more homogeneous IgA response within flocks. This uniformity is particularly important in rearing and breeder flocks, where variation in immune response can translate into differences in later performance.
Technological properties
Fytera® Care is delivered as a micro-encapsulated beadlet in a fat matrix, ensuring:
- Good mixability
- Low dust formation
- Stability during pelleting
This helps to safeguard the availability of the active components under practical conditions.
Practical relevance
Targeted immune support becomes increasingly important as production systems intensify and reliance on vaccination grows.
Fytera® Care can be used as a nutritional tool to support vaccination response and flock uniformity in commercial poultry production.
