Successful week for Selko at the EAAP Congress 2023 in Lyon

The EAAP 2023 Congress in Lyon has come to a close, marking a week filled with groundbreaking discussions, presentations, and networking opportunities. Organized by the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP), this annual event brings together experts, researchers, and industry professionals to explore the latest developments in genetics, nutrition, physiology, animal health, and welfare. Selko was a proud sponsor of the congress. Therefore, we had the honor of inviting and hosting over 65 guests, all professionals in the nutrition and health sector of ruminants.
A global gathering of experts
From August 26th to September 1st 2023, the joint international Congress on Animal Science co-organized by the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP) focused on the themes of climate change, biodiversity, and global sustainability of animal production. Experts, researchers and enthusiasts from around the world came together to discuss, debate and advance the science of animal production. Over 17 scientific abstracts were approved, of which 4 abstracts were orally presented by our recognized ruminant experts and 13 scientific posters were displayed.
During the congress, Selko's booth emerged as a strategic meeting point, providing a platform for visitors to interact and engage in discussions. We highlighted innovative solutions, including Selko Lactibute for hindgut health and Selko IntelliBond for reducing the carbon footprint.
One of the highlights of the congress was the session titled ‘Beyond the Rumen: The Role of Nutrition in Cattle's Intestinal Health’, sponsored by Selko and presented by esteemed guest speakers. The room was completely full, showing that there was a lot of interest from visitors in the topics being discussed.

Selko's Day Event
A special day event was organized for our guests, aptly titled ‘Everything You Wanted to Know But Were Afraid to Ask’. It featured informative presentations by renowned experts:
- Dr. Kevin Harvatine answered questions about optimizing milk fat production under challenging conditions.
- M. Victoria Sanz-Fernandez delved into hindgut health, leaky gut issues, and mitigation strategies to reduce systemic inflammations.
- Dr. Antonio Gallo discussed the impact of mycotoxin management on rumen health and cattle productivity.
- Dr. José Santos showcased practical examples of the influence of health and fertility issues on farm economics.
The day concluded with a special dinner cruise, allowing participants to explore the picturesque city of Lyon while enjoying a meal.
